Why import a yacht from the USA?

1
Largest yacht market in the world
The USA has the largest recreational boating market globally. Options range from small fishing boats to luxury sailing yachts — at prices far below European or Georgian dealers.
2
Access to brands not sold in Georgia
Bayliner, Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Catalina, Beneteau (US models), and many more. Models exclusive to the US market that are unavailable through Georgian dealers.
3
Significant price advantage
Even after shipping (which is more complex for yachts) and maritime customs, the total cost of a US-sourced yacht is typically 35–55% below the equivalent new or used vessel from a European dealer.

How yacht import works

1
Vessel selection and inspection
We help identify vessels on the US market that match your requirements and budget. For yachts, a pre-purchase survey by a US-based marine surveyor is strongly recommended before any commitment.
2
Purchase and title transfer
We handle the US purchase process, title transfer, and Coast Guard documentation if applicable.
3
Maritime transport
Yachts under 35 feet typically ship in containers or on deck. Larger vessels use specialized yacht transport ships (float-on/float-off or cradle on deck). We arrange the most cost-effective method.
4
Port arrival at Batumi or Poti
The vessel arrives at Batumi or Poti sea port. Maritime customs clearance is handled by our team with specialized maritime customs expertise.
5
Georgian registration
Vessels are registered with the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia. We prepare all documentation and submit on your behalf.

Maritime documentation we handle

Yacht import requires specialized documentation beyond standard vehicle import. We manage the full document chain.

1
US Bill of Sale
Legal proof of purchase and ownership transfer in the USA.
2
US Coast Guard Documentation or state title
Depending on vessel size and type. Required for customs clearance.
3
Marine survey report
Condition report by a certified marine surveyor. Required for insurance and recommended for customs valuation.
4
Maritime customs declaration
Georgian customs declaration specifically for maritime vessels — different from standard vehicle customs.
5
Georgian Maritime Transport Agency registration
Final registration with the Georgian MTA. Assigns Georgian vessel registry number.

Yacht import has unique customs rules in Georgia — duties are calculated differently from cars. Contact us for a custom quote before committing to a purchase.
